The Harz Region
The region is located in central Germany and has the most northerly mountain range in the country with its highest peak St Andreasberg at 1200m.
The major city of Hanover, with its international airport, is the closest large urban centre with Hamburg and Berlin a few hours drive to the north.
It is this combination of close urban centres and wild mountain landscape that has earned the region the reputation as the outdoor playground of the north. |
Bad Lauterberg
Bad Lauterberg is located in the southern foothills of the Harz mountains in a small valley.
It began as a spa town in 1839 offering treatments and has grown into a nationally recognised centre for those seeking rest, recuperation and relaxation.
The town itself has grown up around the spa to offer a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars....
