Open since the autumn of 2003 from Osterode across the whole Harz is the "Harzer Hexenstieg" - a long distance path the shows (almost) all the wonderful beauty of the Harz Mountians. In 5 separate stages from Osterode over Torfhaus and the Brocken decending into Bodetal and Thale.

The route crosses both Harz national parks and there are three information centers and shops with interactive displays about the route and surrounding countryside and where you can re-equip yourselves for the route ahead.

As we are situated in a national park with almost alpine scenery this means that we are blest with an unspoilt nature that is just waiting to be discovered by you, so whether you just want to stroll by one of the many lakes, don't forget your swimming things, or are looking for more of a challenge there will be something for all tastes and interests.
